Catherine Speaks (Black American/South Carolina Gullah-Geechee/Cherokee) is a performing artist, playwright, yoga teacher and writer based out of Brooklyn, NY. They are the Founder of "In Search of My Own Gardens", a theater company/blog space, devoted to discovery of self and black/native, queer identity. Most currently, they are investing in Yoga Certification with Jai Yoga Arts and hopes to do more work with black and brown community and those healing from sexual violence. Education Credits include: Education Internship with Trinity Repertory Company, performances with Brown/Trinity MFA Acting Program, B.A. in Theater & Dance Studies/Africana Studies from Wheaton College/Brown University.
