Jonnette Paddy is a member of the Navajo Nation and currently lives on ancestral Tiwa land otherwise known as Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was raised within the urban Indian community on Nuwuvi land(Las Vegas, NV). She grew up going to Indigenous protests, reading books, watching movies and playing softball.
She spent her freshman year of college attending New York University with a major in Liberal Studies. She later attended both the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), studying biological anthropology, and the University of New Mexico (UNM), focusing on Navajo language/culture while also holding the title of Miss Native UNLV 2018-19. After many large life-events she then took a break from school and did work within her community. She's hosted donation drives during the pandemic to bring necessary items to sex trafficked Indigenous relatives in Albuquerque, and organized community events in Las Vegas.
She is currently enrolled in different programs to become a full spectrum birth worker while also holding the title of Abortion Fund Director at Indigenous Women Rising and Community Organizer for Native Voters Alliance NV. She looks forward to serving her community more in the future.
